Upcoming Release: Compliance Report – More Insights, Better Tracking
In our upcoming release, you will find key updates to GCPay’s Compliance Report by capturing more details and more closely aligning with compliance statuses on the Dashboard tab. The report will include all of the compliance statuses we capture (i.e. Required, Expired, Expiring Soon, Verified, and Exempt) ensuring that all compliance information is easily accessible at both the company and project iterations of the report.
As a refresher, GCPay’s Compliance Report tracks both vendor-level and subcontract-level compliance, pulling in data from our supported integrations as well as requirements tracked solely within GCPay. This ensures a comprehensive view of compliancerequirements across all projects, whether managed externally or directly in the platform.
New filtering options provide greater flexibility, allowing users to:
Exclude compliance requirements for subcontractors who have fully billed their schedules, keeping the focus on active requirements.
Display all compliance requirementson a job, including requirements that have been satisfied by subcontractors. (We also added a column in the report to indicate Problem compliance for easy filtering when all requirements are pulled.)
Upon release, explore the upgraded Compliance Report and share yourfeedback with us!
Save Time with GCPay’s Digital Notary Feature
GCPay has seen more notary usage which makes it a good time to remind users that this time-consuming behavior is greatly simplified within GCPay thanks to a partnership with Notarize.com. With the recent acquisition by Proof, the interface may look different for Notarize.com, but the process for GCPay users remains the exact same.
Subcontractors can enjoy the speed of the remote digital notary feature with an average of 400 documents (30% more than 2023) currently being notarized within GCPay each month. Payment control waivers eliminate the need for subcontractors to repeatedly notarize waivers when pay applications are rejected, allowing them to notarize only once—when a pay application is approved.
Reminder: Notarized documents must be uploaded into GCPay by each subcontractor so the new digital signature feature removing uploaded documents can’t also be used in this specific scenario.
If subcontractors need help with digital notary services, you can always have them reach out to GCPay for support or share thislink.
Have an idea that could make GCPay even better? We’re always looking for ways to improve, and your feedback helps drive our innovation. Whether it’s a new feature, an enhancement, or a small tweak that would make your workflow smoother, we want to hear from you! Your input helps us continue building a platform that meets your needs.
As you look ahead to another year of managing projects, subcontractor payments remain a vital part of keeping jobs on track. While many in our industry still rely on internal payment processes, there's a noticeable shift toward bank transfers (ePayments) due to their efficiency and reliability.
Why This Matters for Your Business
Bank transfers offer a faster and more secure way to pay subcontractors compared to paper checks. They also help streamline compliance by ensuring lien waivers are collected before payments are released. With digital payments becoming more common across the industry, making the switch can help simplify the process for both your team and your subcontractors.
The Advantages of ePayments
Enhanced Security: Direct bank transfers minimize the risks linked to lost or stolen checks.
Faster Transactions: Funds reach subcontractors more quickly, improving cash flow.
Streamlined Compliance: Automated processes ensure that necessary compliance documents, such as lien waivers, are collected before payments are released.
Operational Efficiency: Reducing manual tasks associated with check processing allows your team to focus on more strategic activities.
Moving Forward
As a GCPay user, integrating ePayments is a logical step to enhance your payment processes. This integration can help your team maximize efficiency and ensure seamless subcontractor payments in 2025 and beyond.
