Change in Motion

Email Logins Are Here—Part of GCPay’s Move Toward Autodesk Identity

In the coming months, GCPay users will begin logging in with their email address instead of a username. This update simplifies the login process and prepares GCPay for an upcoming migration to the Autodesk Identity platform, a shift that will unlock enhanced login and security features, including:

  • A single login across Autodesk products, including GCPay
  • Enterprise SSO integrations (Okta, Azure AD)
  • Multi-factor authentication for added security

What to Expect:

  • Your access stays the same: Your roles, permissions, and company connections will remain unchanged.
  • Easy transition: When the change goes live, you’ll complete a brief, one-time step to start using your email address (if you’re not already).
  • Multiple accounts? No problem: You’ll still be able to access all the companies you work with in GCPay.
New GCPay Login

This upgrade not only enhances login options, it also strengthens GCPay’s connection to the Autodesk ecosystem, providing greater flexibility across the tools you use every day.

Audit Trails That Protect Your Bottom Line & Your Reputation

GCPay’s audit trails capture a detailed record of system activity across both general contractor and subcontractor users. These logs track events related to Schedule of Values (SOV), pay applications, and ePayment disbursements.

Audit trails serve several security and operational purposes: they support user accountability, help reconstruct events, aid in intrusion detection, and assist in analyzing issues. By letting users know their actions are tracked, audit trails encourage responsible behavior and discourage attempts to bypass security protocols.

GCPay users can monitor every change made to SOV details—whether those updates come from general contractors, subcontractors, or GCPay support staff.

Each pay application (AFP) includes its own audit trail, offering a time-stamped, user-specific view of all related activity.

If an AFP is marked as "Rejected," users can view the rejection reason under the Audit Trail tab. The "Event" column displays the general contractor’s comment explaining the rejection.

In this feature, we’re excited to introduce the team members who are crucial to delivering the exceptional service and product quality you expect from GCPay! This month, we’re highlighting Tracy Hurst, Account Services Manager!

Tracy Hurst_v2

Tracy has been with GCPay for four years, building trusted relationships with customers and helping them make the most of the platform. Whether clients are brand new or long-time users, Tracy is there to guide them, provide training, introduce new features, and ensure they’re seeing real value.

“My goal is to be their go-to person, someone they can count on to listen, advocate for their needs, and help them get the most out of the platform,” she says.

Tracy works closely with teams across Product, Support, Sales, and Finance to resolve issues, share insights, and keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes. Tracy also keeps a close eye on platform usage, making recommendations to boost adoption and drive efficiency.

When it comes to defining success, Tracy puts relationships first. “Success is when a customer feels confident reaching out to me, not just for answers, but for genuine support. It means they feel heard, valued, and empowered to make the most of GCPay.”

To build that kind of trust, she focuses on two key strategies: active listening and responsiveness. “I make it a point to understand where they’re coming from and follow through with clear, timely communication.”

Her best advice for customers, “Trust the process and you’ll see the results.” Adopting a new system can take time, but Tracy often sees customers unlock major efficiencies once they fully lean into GCPay’s workflows.

While she doesn’t point to a single moment of feedback that changed how she works, Tracy says that every customer conversation helps her improve, whether that’s refining her communication, anticipating needs, or streamlining support.

Outside of GCPay, Tracy enjoys DIY projects, going to live music shows, and spending time with her family and friends, activities that help her stay grounded, creative, and inspired.

As for what’s ahead, she’s optimistic and energized: “I’m excited to see how GCPay will continue to grow alongside the evolution of construction software. As the industry becomes more digital and connected, there’s so much potential.”

The Easiest Way to Speed Up Pay App Approvals

Spoiler: It’s not about working harder.

If you’ve ever stared at your screen wondering why a pay app is stuck in limbo, you’re not alone. The good news? There are a few easy things you can do right now that’ll make your next cycle go a whole lot faster, without adding more to your plate.

Here are three go-to tips for streamlining the process:

•    Lock the SOV Early
Your project’s Schedule of Values (SOV) sets the tone for the whole payment process, and the earlier it’s finalized, the sooner subcontractors can get to work (and billing). Once the SOV is reviewed and locked, subs won’t have to guess or wait around. GCPay will automatically pull forward their billed amounts from the last pay app, so they can keep things moving with fewer questions and edits.

•    Set (and Share) Clear Deadlines
Subcontractors want to get paid, but they’re juggling a lot. One of the easiest ways to help them help you. Make your due dates crystal clear. GCPay lets you customize pay app due dates by project, so everyone knows what’s expected. And when they submit on time, you’ve got more runway to review, approve, and pay without a time crunch.

•    Turn on Automatic Reminders and Compliance Rules
Let the system chase paperwork, not you. If your subs are forgetting to upload insurance docs or sign lien waivers, GCPay can automatically flag those missing pieces before they submit. That means fewer back-and-forth emails and a cleaner, more compliant pay app landing on your desk. You can also set up auto-reminders to keep everyone on track.

Bottom line: You don’t need to reinvent the wheel to move faster. Just a few smart tweaks can make a huge difference in your approval timeline. And if you’re already doing these things, kudos! Pass this on to someone who’s still fighting the paper chase.

Until next time,
–Danny
