GCPay’s lien waiver reports will receive several useful updates soon designed to make the process of managing your construction projects’ financial documents more efficient and user-friendly. Keep an eye out for this new functionality in the coming weeks, so that you can take advantage of the improved reporting functionality.
The Lien Waiver Status Report The Lien Waiver Status Report will soon include a date range selector, allowing you to retrieve lien waiver status data over several months, rather than just one month at a time. This feature will be available at both the company and project levels, providing more flexibility for data analysis.
The Lien Waiver Report(formerly the Unconditional Lien Waiver Report) We are also enhancing the Unconditional Lien Waivers Report to include all types of approved waivers/templates for a project. This means that in addition to unconditional waivers, you will be able to download conditional waivers, cover pages, letters of guarantee, sworn statements, and other documents with just a few clicks. The documents can be filtered by Document Type and are accessible from the start of the project. This report is perfect for providing backup to your owners or for producing documentation during an audit.
Customizing Dashboards for each user for maximum benefit!
GCPay users all have access to a dashboard which can be found in the toolbar on the home screen. Based on user profile/permissions, only applicable items will be visible to each user in the custom dashboard. In addition, each user can have his/her dashboard set as the home page for an immediate view of desired data or metrics.
The GCPay dashboard quickly highlights outstanding items related to pay submittals, lien waivers, or compliance documentation. The dashboard also provides a snapshot of all activities in process regarding each category. This allows users to click on each specific item to begin the required action.
To set up each user’s dashboard as the home page, simply select Settings from the current home page, identify the user, and check the box for Make the Dashboard my home page, then select Done to save your changes.
Official AIA Forms are now available in GCPay!
I'm excited to share that GCPay has partnered with AIA Contract Documents to integrate the official AIA G702 and G703 documents directly into our platform. This means GCPay users can now generate billing with the official AIA letterhead, meeting the requirements of many project owners.
Currently, we offer the AIA G702S-2017 Application and Certificate for Payment document for subcontractor billing and the GC702-1992 Application and Certificate for Payment document for owner billing. We plan to expand our offering to include more official AIA documents in the future.
It's important to note that this feature is optional and comes with an additional annual fee. You have the flexibility to enable or disable the use of AIA documents at the project level, allowing you to use this format only where necessary. If you're interested in using the official AIA forms, please reach out to your dedicated account manager.
2024 Construction Trends: Navigating Challenges and Embracing Innovation
Despite challenges like high interest rates and material costs, the construction industry remains optimistic, especially in the public sector. Anticipated projects include water and sewer, transportation, federal, and bridge and highway work. However, concerns over skilled labor shortages and supply chain delays persist, necessitating a proactive approach to stay competitive.
One pressing trend is the continued rise of material costs, threatening project viability. To mitigate risks, businesses must employ accurate estimating, diligent job site management, and consistent client communication. Embracing strategic project management principles and leveraging cost management tools such as construction calculators are essential to navigate these challenges effectively.
Tech and digitization are driving transformation within the industry. Integrating new technologies like AI, drones, and IoT devices enhances efficiency and cost management. These tools aid in task prioritization, dependency identification, and predictive analysis, ensuring smoother project execution. Additionally, the adoption of sustainable construction materials aligns with growing customer demand for eco-friendly practices, further emphasizing the importance of sustainability in modern construction practices.
Navigating the future of construction requires a holistic approach. Addressing trends such as cost management, efficiency improvement, risk mitigation, and sustainability proactively ensures long-term competitiveness and profitability. By embracing innovation and adapting to evolving market demands, construction businesses can thrive amidst the challenges of 2024 and beyond.
