Simplify Lien Risk Management with Preliminary Notice Tracking

Preliminary notices are an important part of lien rights management, but they often arrive through a variety of channels and can be difficult to track. To help keep these critical documents organized, GCPay enhanced tier vendor management capabilities with Preliminary Notice Tracking last year.

Project teams can now indicate when a preliminary notice has been received and upload the notice directly to the appropriate tier vendor record. This creates a centralized repository for these notices for storing and referencing.

Contractor_Vendor Info

For added visibility, GCPay displays a PN badge next to any tier vendor for which a preliminary notice has been received, helping teams quickly identify vendors that may have established lien rights on a project.

Smarter Lien Waiver Collection

GCPay also allows tier vendor waiver templates to be configured so they are required only when a preliminary notice has been received.

In states where a preliminary notice is necessary to establish lien rights, this trigger can help teams focus waiver collection efforts on vendors that present actual lien risk instead of generating waivers for every vendor. The result is a more efficient waiver process, reduced administrative effort, and better visibility into project compliance.

Joint Check Agreement Tracking

In addition to preliminary notices, GCPay supports tracking Joint Check Agreements within Tier Vendor Management. Users can indicate when a joint check is required, upload the agreement, and identify affected vendors through a JC badge displayed throughout the application.

Together, these enhancements help project teams centralize critical compliance documentation, improve visibility into project risk, and streamline vendor management workflows.

GCPay + Forma Build: What It Means For You

Construction teams move fast, but disconnected systems can slow everything down.

When field operations and finance teams work in separate tools, the result is often duplicate data entry, delayed approvals, payment bottlenecks, and limited visibility into project costs. That disconnect creates friction across every phase of a project.

GCPay is excited to announce a powerful new integration between Autodesk Forma Build and GCPay that creates a more connected, streamlined experience between project teams, subcontractors, and finance operations.

With the introduction of our new “Cost Management in the Middle” integration model, construction teams now have a flexible new way to connect project execution with subcontractor billing and payment workflows.

Two Integration Paths. Stronger Cost Control.

Build now supports two paths for accounting and ERP integration.

    1. ERP in the middle
    2. Cost Management in the middle [New!]
Cost Mgmt Diagram_June eNews

Because Build and GCPay each integrate with different ERP systems—some overlapping, some unique—this new [Cost Management in the Middle] integration model opens the door for more customers to use both platforms together, even if a direct ERP integration isn’t available.

The result?

    • Better collaboration between project and accounting teams
    • Fewer manual processes and duplicate entries
    • Faster subcontractor billing and payment workflows
    • Stronger visibility into project costs and financial performance
    • Greater flexibility for teams with complex ERP environments

This is more than just another integration. It’s a bridge between the field and the financial systems that keep projects moving.

How Fast Is Your Pay App Review Process?

How long does it really take to review a pay application? And what could make it faster without cutting corners? Teams in the Big Room are comparing turnaround times and sharing what’s helping them move quicker. Take a look, join the conversation, and see where you might be able to speed things up.

In this feature, we’re excited to introduce the team members who are crucial to delivering the exceptional service and product quality you expect from GCPay. This month, we’re highlighting Kayla Wilson, Account Services Manager!

Kayla joined GCPay a year and a half ago, bringing three years of experience from the BDR team at Autodesk, where she developed a strong foundation in construction technology and client success. Her move to GCPay was driven by a passion for building relationships and helping customers thrive. “It’s been a really rewarding transition,” she says.

As an Account Services Manager, Kayla partners closely with her clients to ensure they reach their goals and get the most out of GCPay. Whether it’s coordinating a training, offering proactive guidance, or simply being available when needed, she’s committed to supporting customers every step of the way. “I want every client I work with to feel supported, understood, and confident using GCPay.”

Kayla believes strong relationships start with trust. “It begins by listening—truly understanding what matters to the customer. Then it’s about following up, being consistent, and showing up not just when something goes wrong, but throughout their entire journey with us.”

One tip she often shares with customers; “Make sure your workflows are set up correctly from the beginning. Our onboarding team is there to help you do it right the first time, and that makes a huge difference down the line.”

Her favorite part of working at GCPay so far, is the people. “Everyone here is so supportive and knowledgeable. As someone new to the team, I’ve really valued how willing everyone is to help, there’s a real sense of collaboration.”

Outside of work, you’ll often find Kayla traveling, especially to places with sun and sand. “I love exploring new places and relaxing on a beach. It’s the perfect balance to the work I love doing here.”

Looking ahead, Kayla is excited about what’s to come. “With GCPay’s continued growth as part of Autodesk, we have an opportunity to reach more customers and bring even greater value. I can’t wait to see how our Customer Success team continues to grow and evolve.”

The Shift Happening Across Construction Finance and Technology

CFMA in May and TUG in June gave us a front-row seat to the conversations shaping construction finance and technology right now and this year, the focus felt more urgent than ever.

At CFMA, financial leaders were looking beyond simply processing payments faster. Conversations centered around gaining better visibility into project risk, improving accountability across teams, and finding ways to reduce friction between operations, accounting, and subcontractors. Efficiency is still important, but many teams are now equally focused on creating processes that are more connected, scalable, and easier to manage as projects grow more complex.

At TUG, the conversation shifted toward connected systems and smarter workflows. Teams are looking for ways to eliminate duplicate work, improve data flow between platforms, and give project and accounting teams better access to real-time information. It was clear that customers are thinking more strategically about how their technology ecosystem works together, not just how individual tools function on their own.

Across both events, one theme kept surfacing: construction teams want fewer disconnected processes and more confidence in the information moving across their projects.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to share ideas, challenges, and feedback with us. Those conversations continue to shape how we think about the future of GCPay and the evolving needs of the construction industry.

Until next time,

- Mike
