The date is based on the billing reminder day the general contractor has already configured.   The column is sortable, so you can click the Billing Due Date header to organize your projects by upcoming deadlines. Projects without a configured billing day display a dash and appear at the bottom of the list, keeping upcoming deadlines easy to find. If none of your projects have a billing day configured, the column won't appear. Stay on Top of Upcoming Billing Deadlines   For subcontractors   Spend less time tracking down deadlines and more time preparing applications for payment. The sorted Projects list gives you a clear view of which deadlines are coming up first, without opening individual projects or searching through emails.   If multiple team members share billing responsibilities, sorting by due date can also help you prioritize work and coordinate submissions across projects.   For general contractors   There's nothing new to configure if you've already set your billing reminder day. The due date subcontractors see is based on the billing reminder day configured for each project under Project Options or the company-wide default under Settings \> Options.   Once configured, the date appears on the subcontractor's Projects tab, giving your team and subcontractors a shared view of upcoming billing deadlines.   How to Get Started   There's nothing to turn on.  General contractors  should confirm a billing reminder day is set at the company level under Settings \> Options, or per project under Project Options, so every sub sees a date instead of a dash. Subcontractors just open the Projects tab and click the Billing Due Date header to sort.   With Billing Due Date, you can quickly identify upcoming deadlines and better organize your team's billing workload. Track Billing Changes for Greater Security and Accountability  GCPay Audit trails maintain a record of system activity both general and subcontractors. Audit trails will capture events related to SOV, pay applications, and ePayment disbursements. Audit trails can provide a means to help accomplish several security-related objectives, including individual accountability, reconstruction of events (actions that happen on a computer system), intrusion detection, and problem analysis. Audit trails also help maintain individual accountability. By advising users that they are personally accountable for their actions, which are tracked by an audit trail that logs user activities, managers can help promote proper user behavior. Users are less likely to attempt to circumvent security policy if they know that their actions will be recorded in an audit trail log.   Other benefits to general contractors include: Accountability: Creates a record of user and administrator actions Security: Helps identify suspicious activity such as unauthorized access Compliance: Supports regulatory and governance requirements by providing evidence of access, approvals, changes, and controls Data integrity: Makes unexpected or inappropriate modifications easier to detect and investigate Dispute resolution: Provides objective evidence when there's disagreement about whether an action occurred or who performed it A strong audit trail generally captures user, action, affected object, and timestamp, while being tamper-resistant and subject to appropriate access and retention controls.   GCPay users can track all changes made to SOV details, whether from general contractor account users, subcontractor users, or GCPay support users.   In addition, AFP or pay app specific audit trails exist for quick review of all changes, including by user with time stamp, about each pay app submission for each project. If an AFP has the Status of Rejected, users can review the reason why by clicking the Audit Trail tab. In the audit trail under the Event column, you can view the comment by the general contractor of why the AFP was rejected. New events are continuously being added to the audit trail so be sure to read release notes to get the latest information found on the client central page. What are you not tracking (but should be)? What I Learned at Autodesk University 2026   From September 15–17, more than 12,000 Design & Make professionals gathered in Las Vegas for Autodesk University 2026. The theme this year was simple: “Don’t just imagine the future. Build it.”   Across the event, three ideas kept coming up: AI, connected data, and better ways for technology to work together. But what stood out most was the focus on making these technologies practical for the customers using them every day.   For GCPay, AU was a chance to be part of those conversations, showcase what we’re building, and hear directly from construction professionals about the challenges they’re working to solve.   What Stood Out at AU   AI was everywhere. From finding information and reviewing documents to creating daily logs and handling routine tasks, there was a clear focus on using AI to help teams spend less time on repetitive work and more time on the work that requires their expertise.   Connected data was another key theme. Construction teams rely on information from many different systems. Making that information easier to access and move between workflows can help reduce manual entry and give teams a clearer view of what’s happening across a project.   There was also a strong emphasis on collaboration. Bringing construction professionals and technology teams together creates an opportunity to share what’s working, talk openly about challenges, and learn from how other teams are approaching them.   One example of this connected approach that stood out was the continued connection between GCPay and Autodesk Forma Build. Connecting contract, cost, and payment information between systems is one way technology can reduce manual steps and help keep project and financial workflows better connected.   If Autodesk isn’t part of your technology stack today, that’s OK. The broader takeaway is still relevant: construction technology is moving toward more connected workflows that can reduce duplicate work and keep information moving between teams.   Couldn’t Make It to Las Vegas?   You can still catch up on AU 2026 with keynotes and digital sessions available on demand at no cost. Browse topics on AI, connected data, workflows, and other ideas shaping the future of construction technology.   And if you’re already thinking about next year, mark your calendar for Autodesk University 2027, September 14–16, 2027.   For GCPay, being part of AU is about more than showcasing our solution. It’s an opportunity to listen, share what we’re learning, and bring the experiences and perspectives of construction professionals into the conversations shaping what’s next.   I look forward to seeing you at AU 2027!   Until next time,   Mike   Visit Client Central Your one-stop destination for valuable customer resources!
