GCs and subcontractors frequently use different reference numbers when referring to the same invoice. Consequently, GCPay recently added a Contractor Reference Number field to subcontractor AFPs, allowing subs the ability to input their preferred reference number, which generally mirrors the number used in their own accounting system. This new field will aid subs in identifying specific invoices on the platform.
The Contractor Reference Number can be enabled by GCs in the company or project-level settings by selecting the Add Contractor Reference Number option to Application for Payment checkbox.
Protect yourself from cyber threats with Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Passwords are used by most of us to access the most important items in our personal and professional lives.According to leading password manager LastPass, 61% of users have the same password for multiple applications. This makes the security of passwords extra valuable since one vulnerable access point, could give a hacker access to multiple applications of yours. Two-Factor Authentication is an easy step to help protect passwords. Since Google implemented 2FA for all users, they have reporteda 50% decrease in compromised accounts. GCPay, has you covered with 2FA already within our platform. When 2FA is enabled in GCPay, an authentication code will be sent to your SMS-capable mobile phone, and that code will then be entered into GCPay to authenticate any new phone or browser used to access GCPay.
Security is Our Top Priority: All About SOC2 Certification
Data security practices safeguard your digital data from unwanted access, corruption, or theft. That’s why protection of your sensitive customer data is our utmost priority. Our security protocols in GCPay include the ability for your company to enable 2FA (Two Factor Authentication), as we discuss in the article above. Our ePayment processor and GCPay are PCI compliant, meaning any sensitive payment information you provide is protected in a secure environment.
Part of the security process is not just related to where your data is hosted, but how GCPay as a company creates, monitors, and maintains our servers. Utilizing industry standard protocols, GCPay is using the latest DevOps frameworks while remaining in the AWS environment. In addition to allowing us to take advantage of more modernized tooling, the migration enabled us to pursue SOC 2 and ISO27001 certification, which demonstrates our commitment to security.
Both certifications are comprehensive and serve as the gold standard in the technology space. Implementing SOC 2, a voluntary compliance standard, means that our infrastructure must meet a set of best practices developed by the American Institute of CPAs which cover security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy.
The audit process has been rigorous, but I’m happy to report that we’re coming down the homestretch: The new environment has been certified SOC2 compliant, and our data migration is underway and should be fully completed during Q2 of this year. Once complete, we’ll be able to provide our SOC 2 certification to customers detailing our security credentials.
What does that mean for you?You can rest assured that GCPay and your data are fully secure and protected by GCPay.
